The selected second-generation Nissan DAYZ for Japan uses a three-cylinder 0.66-litre engine: the naturally aspirated unit makes 52 hp and the turbo unit 64 hp. Some versions have S-HYBRID with a supporting electric motor; its rating should not simply be added to combustion-engine output to describe the car. A CVT is used, with front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive available.
The standard DAYZ has a calmer exterior, Highway Star uses a larger grille and its own bumper, and Bolero has a separate colour and upholstery combination.
