Choosing a Crown S220

Start by separating the three engine families in the Japanese Crown S220: the 1998 cc 8AR-FTS, 2487 cc A25A-FXS and 3456 cc 8GR-FXS. The generation includes rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic and CVT. Check these specifications together in one trim; they do not form an arbitrary set of available combinations.

The recorded S220 trims have five seats and a 2920 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance varies from 130 to 135 mm. If your daily route includes uneven access roads, check the suspension and actual clearance of the individual car. Confirm wheel size and equipment after selecting the trim.

Names such as RS and G do not identify an engine on their own. Select the chassis code and production period first, then compare equipment. For a hybrid, adding engine and electric-motor power does not establish the rated system output.
