Chevrolet Tracker RS from China: design, engine and CVT

The Chinese Chevrolet Tracker received the RS version in May 2022. Along with the updated crossover, a 1.5-liter turbo engine was presented, and its own body design was prepared for the RS. When choosing a used car, it is worth separating these two things: the appearance of the performance and its technique.

What is the difference between RS design

According to Chevrolet’s description at launch, the RS has a black honeycomb grille with a red RS emblem, black mirror housings, 17-inch wheels with ten spokes and roof rails. Chevrolet Camaro motifs are used in the design of the front end.

The three versions of the RS have the same motor, gearbox and drive. The difference between them is in the equipment, so the comparison of specific offers must continue by configuration, and not only by the letters RS in the name.

Motor and CVT

The eighth-generation 1.5-liter turbo engine of the Ecotec family develops 184 hp. and 250 Nm. According to Chevrolet, the maximum torque is available from 1500 to 5000 rpm. It is not worth drawing a conclusion about the acceleration of the car from it alone. A CVT with a metal chain and front-wheel drive work with the engine.

Trunk volume – 390 liters, with folded backrests of the rear row – 1334 liters.
