Toyota Corolla and Levin from China: two names and different engines

In China, the Toyota sedan of this class is found under two names – Corolla and Corolla Levin, which is usually called simply Levin. The cars are related, but the name does not say either about the engine or the version, so it is worth comparing specific copies, and not the inscriptions on the body.

The very name Levin is older than the Chinese sedan: in Japan, the Corolla Levin was a coupe, and in the catalog of the Japanese market this car is separate from the Chinese Levin sedan. When searching, therefore, they immediately specify the country and year.

The name of the engine cannot be determined

Two Chinese cars of similar years have engines of different sizes: the 2022 Corolla Elite CARE petrol a 1.5-liter engine with CVT, the 2021 Levin Luxury Edition has a 1.2-liter engine, also with CVT and front-wheel drive.
