Why order a second wheel set with a vehicle from Japan

It makes sense to discuss a second set before shipping when the exact vehicle, season and collection city are known. This allows compatibility checks and comparison of combined delivery with a separate order. Savings are not automatic: Vladimir calculates both options for the specific vehicle and set.
Details needed for selection
We record the vehicle model, year and chassis code, factory specifications, required season, size and order contents: tyres, wheels or complete assemblies. Brand, remaining tread, colour and appearance requirements are recorded before the search. Compatibility is checked by diameter, width, PCD, offset, centre bore, fasteners, brake clearance and load without copying specifications from a similar version.
How selection works in Japan
- Vladimir proposes options that match the agreed specifications and budget.
- For a used set, we request available photographs of markings, tread, front and inner wheel surfaces, and visible damage.
- We agree what can be checked before purchase and which limitations remain.
- After selection, we record the set contents. Cleaning, additional photographs and preparation for dispatch are agreed separately when needed and available.
How we compare combined and separate delivery
We prepare two estimates for the same date: the vehicle with the set, and the vehicle alone plus separate wheel shipping. Each shows the selected set price, preparation, packaging, available placement or transport method, and onward route to the collection city. If the carrier does not allow combined placement or changes the terms, the estimate is recalculated.
Compare the complete scope of work and costs, not one delivery line. We do not promise a fixed saving: it depends on set size and condition, route, carrier requirements and the selected vehicle.
When a separate order may make more sense
If no suitable set is available when the vehicle ships, specifications are not yet confirmed or combined transport is impossible, there is no reason to rush the purchase for one shipment. In that case, compare a later separate order with buying wheels in the collection city.
The process is described on the “Tyres and wheels from Japan” page. Current items are listed in the GTYRES Japan catalog. To compare two estimates, send Vladimir the vehicle details, season, city and set requirements via Telegram GTYRES.
How it worked in the Honda WR-V order
For this car, the client requested winter wheels at the first enquiry. After the vehicle arrived at the facility in Japan, a set of Bridgestone Blizzak VRX2 tyres on alloy wheels was agreed and purchased. Before shipment, the wheels were packed and placed inside the cabin; they travelled with the car.

This case confirms combined shipment, but does not by itself prove savings over separate delivery. That comparison requires two comparable estimates prepared on the same date.
