Toyota Yaris Cross Z for 1.74 million with Enkei. Wheels are catching up

We thought that this case would take a long time to close, but we bought the car on the fifth day, and also 200 thousand yen cheaper than the rate that we set for ourselves. And we found exactly what the man wanted: a black Yaris Cross in the Z configuration.

Five days to find a black Z

We have known this client for several years, we managed to bring him two cars, wheels, spare parts, in general, we worked together enough to understand each other well. This time a relative needed a car, and 1,750,000 rubles were allocated for all the pleasure. At the usual prices for such a Yaris, the budget was a little cramped, so we agreed in advance that we would calmly look for a good option and were ready to wait if nothing came across right away.

We started watching on August 16, and on the 21st we already bought it. The client even asked: “Have you already bought?” I myself expected that I would have to choose longer, but then a suitable option was found before we had time to properly get involved in the search.

From the photos, the car looked very good: July 2023, only 23,657 kilometers, black body and the same Z configuration. Only in the sheet there was a note about the replacement of the front left wing, and on such things, many, of course, immediately finish watching.

We took a closer look, discussed everything with the client, and decided to give it a try. Otherwise, the car was good, and the replaced fender alone did not tell us what had happened to it. But for the price, there was a chance to buy exactly what we wanted and stay within the budget. The bet was 2,102,000 yen , which is below the limit that we had set for ourselves in advance.

On August 25, we paid the invoice. Together with the expenses in Japan and freight to Vladivostok, it turned out to be 2,282,000 yen. Then it remained to wait for the car at our base, and this moment, to be honest, is the most exciting for me.

With wholesale orders, we usually have a slightly different story: another company is engaged in the selection, and we are responsible for the purchase, acceptance of the car, preparation and shipment to Russia. Our regular retail customer also contacted here, and the entire journey of the car – from the choice of the lot – is already on us. You looked at the sheet yourself, told the person “you can take it” and now you are waiting for what will come live. It seems that you have studied everything, discussed everything, but until you approach the car yourself, you still get a little sick inside. Especially when you know in advance that you need to carefully look at this very wing.

What did the inspection of the wing show?

The Yaris came to us on September 7, and we immediately went with a thickness gauge to look at the body. We walked in a circle, separately checked the fender, fasteners, neighboring elements and everything from the inside – we wanted to understand what exactly was behind the mark in the sheet.

And there is an original factory fender in the color of the body, neatly installed in its place. Upon inspection, we did not see any traces of a serious accident, and the Yaris itself looked like a new car. Here you stand nearby, look at it and perceive the very sheet that could scare someone on the screen in a completely different way.

We do not know for sure what happened to the old wing; from what we saw, it looks more like local damage with the replacement of one part. But we carefully checked the car itself, and there were no questions about the condition. In our case, it was this nuance that helped to buy a good car cheaper – provided that it was properly sorted out.

Z picking and preparation for shipment

And in black, of course, it is good. The original wheels themselves are successful, the interior is neat, everything looks fresh. The car is small, with a one-and-a-half-liter engine, but the Z configuration adds pleasant things: an electric driver’s seat, two keys, original floor mats. In general, such a Yaris is pleasant to look at yourself, and I think even more so for a person who wanted a black Z.

Before shipping, we did the usual preparation and changed the engine oil and oil filter for free according to our promotion. With the filter, however, we had to tinker a little, I really didn’t want to unscrew it, but we did it.

At the same time, we had to deal with the battery: it arrived discharged to zero. First, we tried to charge it normally and checked how everything worked. This was enough here, so there was no need to replace the battery with a new one — another issue was closed before shipping.

At the same time, our regular customer had a request for a used part: it was bought on Yahoo, received, checked and prepared for shipment along with the car.

Enkei Winter Kit

And, of course, the wheels. This is already becoming a good tradition for us: since the car is still in Japan, we want to immediately pick up a good set for it for the winter. Here we chose the original Enkei with good greasy winter tires – 215/50 R18, 2023, with a balance of 99%, that is, the tires are almost like new. On a black Yaris, these black Enkei look very relevant, just the same Total Black that you want to look at.

We paid 110,000 yen for the set together with tires, in rubles on the date of payment it turned out to be 69,256. Everything was prepared, packed, put together with the spare part in the trunk, and on September 15 , the car went to the port.

Why did the wheels go separately?

And already in the port it turned out that there were wheels in the trunk, but they were not in the bill of lading. We handed over the data on all attachments to the shipping company in advance, they entered the spare part, but for some reason they missed the kit. This is such a seemingly small error, due to which we had to change the shipment.

It is impossible to leave the wheels in the car without writing in the documents: then you can get unnecessary questions during registration. Therefore, the kit was urgently taken from this shipment and a separate route was organized for him. It took a long time to figure out who exactly missed the line, but what does it matter to the client? He ordered a car with wheels, and he needs to get them.

So we took care of the additional costs and a separate shipment, the client does not pay anything extra for this situation. As for the wheels, the deadlines have shifted a little, but we are dealing with this issue, and the Yaris calmly went to Vladivostok on September 17 . The spare part, which was included in the documents, remained with the car; the wheels now follow, we will meet them in Russia, issue them and send them to Irkutsk.

Expenses and issuance in Vladivostok

On September 21, customs clearance began, and everything went smoothly here.

Well, in terms of money, it turned out like this – I put everything together so that it was convenient to watch.

The agreed budget included the same black Z, and an additional set for the winter, and a little more left. For a request with which we were initially preparing for a long search, it turned out to be very nice.

On September 28, the car was fully prepared for delivery in Vladivostok, on the same day it was picked up and sent further to Irkutsk. The wheels are caught up separately – a little not as planned, but for the client at no additional cost.

For me, the most pleasant thing in this story is that behind the note in the list there was a really good car, and in terms of money it turned out to be even better than expected.
