Are Japanese car documents even legal?

Many people think that the Japanese export certificate (Yushutsu Massho Shomeisho) is an analogue of our PTS. In fact, the Japanese paper system is much cooler, but it does not forgive mistakes either.

Here are 2 main features of Japanese documents that you need to know about:

1️⃣ 100% mileage twist protection
Unlike Russian documents, the Japanese export certificate officially records the mileage for the last two technical inspections (Shaken). It will not be possible to twist the speedometer before selling: if there are 50,000 km on the dashboard, and 120,000 km is recorded in a document two years ago, the deception will be revealed instantly.

2️⃣ Typo worth hundreds of thousands of rubles
In Russia, a minor error in the vehicle registration certificate or vehicle registration certificate can be corrected by the traffic police. In Japan, everything is different. If at least one incorrect digit has crept into the VIN number or body number in the port of departure, the customs of the Russian Federation will simply not let the car through. Correcting documents when the car has already sailed away is a hellish bureaucratic circle that threatens you with huge fines for downtime in the port.

That is why the GTYRES team always checks the entire package of documents on the spot - right in Japan before loading on the ship. ⚓️ We check every symbol in the body numbers, check the history of technical inspections and guarantee that you will not have a single problem at customs in Vladivostok or Toyama.

Do you want to bring a car with an absolutely clean and proven history? Write the code word "IMPORT" in the comments, and we will select the perfect option for your budget!
